Win8.1 Update Takes Ages

I have been getting frequent annoying reminders to upgrade to Win8.1.

As I thought about this, then I tend to ignore these reminders.. because I think win8.1 might be just one of the ‘updates’.

Different Reactions to OS Updates

I had to restart my laptop earlier because it became very slow. And the options provided are sleep, shutdown, switch user, and [update and restart]. Yes, there is no such thing as pure restart, then I think it might be OK to install [updates], but I realized it was going to Win8.1 and it was too late.

30 minutes before finally reaching [Applying PC settings], i think this is the last few minutes..

When it gets restart, you think yes, finally, but it continues to updates…

Just this screen stays frozen (only screen colour changing) for quite a few minutes.

Finally… and the free space of C drive increases roughly 4GB, which is a bit surprising… Did they optimise the code or remove thousands of useless code? The caption of “My Computer” has been changed to “This PC”.

Upgraded to Win8.1 Finally

I would be just a Linux user if I had not used windows for work.
