Over the past five years, there have been challenges, growth, and many valuable collaborations and experiences. This award not only commemorates the journey so far, but also reminds me to stay passionate and embrace the next chapter.
Microsoft has released its FY2026 results, delivering strong growth in both revenue and net income. Azure and Microsoft 365 Copilot were the standout performers, while a substantial backlog of long-term contracts provides greater visibility and a solid foundation for growth over the next two years.

Microsoft MSFT Stock Price & 2026 Q4 Earnings Report
Microsoft has released its FY2026 financial results, officially closing out the fiscal year. Several key metrics for the fourth quarter significantly exceeded market expectations, and the company’s share price rose by as much as approximately 9% in after-hours trading following the announcement.
Looking at the headline figures, Microsoft generated total annual revenue of $331.8 billion, up 18% year over year. Full-year net income reached $133.7 billion, representing an overall net profit margin of 40.3%. Fourth-quarter revenue came in at $90 billion, also up 18% year over year and well above the market consensus.
Microsoft’s AI-related businesses achieved two major milestones.
First, Azure cloud services grew by 43% year over year in the fourth quarter, far exceeding the market’s previous expectation of around 39%. Azure’s annual revenue also surpassed $100 billion for the first time. Management expects growth to reach approximately 45% in the next quarter, once again ahead of expectations.
Second, Microsoft 365 Copilot has now exceeded 30 million paid seats, with most of them purchased in bulk by enterprise customers. More than 70% of Fortune 500 companies have deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot, while the number of customers purchasing more than 10,000 seats has quadrupled year over year. This clearly shows that the commercial adoption of enterprise AI is accelerating.
Even more notably, Microsoft currently has $678 billion in contracted long-term orders that have not yet been recognised as revenue. Given that these contracts have an average duration of roughly two to three years, the foundation for Microsoft’s growth over the next two years is largely secured.
There is no denying it—this was an exceptionally strong set of results.
MSFT had no trading price on Monday, 5 July 2021, because Nasdaq was closed for the observed US Independence Day holiday.
The most recent price was from Friday, 2 July 2021:
